Women of Saranac
The inner monologues of four women, each inspired by turn of the century photographs found in a Saranac Lake junk shop, work together to conjure the landscape of a town. The photograph of each woman is mounted on the outside of a box, and as each monologue is spoken, the respective box is opened at a particular moment to reveal an assemblage sculpture contained within.
Box sculptures created by Megan Murtha
Performed at Fabriscope (Brooklyn, NY) by Maggie Robinson Katz, Megan Gaffney, Sarah Poleshuck, and Dana O’Brien in 2014.
